Bryan Police Arrest Two Local Drivers With A Combined 41 Active Suspensions

A Bryan man is in and out of the Brazos County jail for the second time in as many months this year on driving related charges. That’s after a Bryan police officer pulled over a pickup that made a turn without signaling. According to the arrest report, 37 year old Richard Sonny Sims has 29 active suspensions on his drivers license. Sims, who was arrested for driving without a valid license with three prior convictions, is out of jail after posting a $2,000 dollar bond. This was the 23rd time Sims was booked in the county jail since August of 2000.

Another Bryan man, this one with four prior convictions for driving without a valid license, was stopped by a Bryan officer who accuses him of making an unsafe lane change on Boonville Road that also resulted in a crash. That led to the arrest of 59 year old James Gregory Hardin, who has 12 active suspensions on his license according to his arrest report. Hardin, who was arrested February 27, was released from jail March 2 after posting a $2,000 dollar bond and being released from Bryan municipal court on community supervision following his arrest on a warrant charging him with not having insurance. It was the 10th time Hardin was booked in the county jail since February of 2012.
