A Bryan couple is caught on store video taking $150 dollars from a purse that was left behind by a customer at a Dollar General store. Bryan police arrest reports say the purse, which was taken from the victim’s shopping cart, was found the next day…minus the money…in the store’s pet food aisle. Photos of the suspects taken from store video led to two detectives identifying 54 year old Eric Escamilla and 50 year old Theresa Hawkins. Online records show Escamilla is in jail for the 25th time in 26 years and Hawkins for the 29th time in 30 years. As of August 6th, Escamilla and Hawkins are jailed in lieu of $15,000 dollar bonds.
Bryan police get a call from a hotel manager reporting a guest offered to sell an employee illegal drugs. That led to the arrests of two local men for possessing six types of illegal drugs. The BPD arrest report says one of the men allowed a search of his hotel room. That led to finding the drugs, a woman who was unresponsive and required medical attention, and the second man who was wanted for violating parole and was wanted by Bryan municipal court on six warrants for failing to pay fines and costs. As of August 6th, 25 year old Thomas Anthony Rogers of Bryan is held in lieu of bonds totaling $78,000 dollars on six counts of possessing and/or selling controlled substances. 34 year old Juan Perez III of Snook is jailed on the parole violation, the Bryan municipal court warrants, and possession of a controlled substance. BPD arrest reports say officers seized what is believed to be 46.27 grams of methamphetamine, 10.86 grams of Xanax, 2.49 grams of Hydrocodone, 1.62 grams of K2 synthetic marijuana, .94 grams of cocaine, and 0.1 gram of Ecstasy.
