Bryan Police Arrest Two For Endangering Children And Pleas Entered By Two In A College Station Child Endangerment Case

The mother and grandfather of two and three year old boys were taken to the Brazos County jail on charges of leaving them unattended in a van parked in direct sunlight for more than one hour with the engine running, the air conditioning not working, and the windows rolled up. Bryan police arrest reports say the children were taken by EMS to the hospital for treatment of possible heat exhaustion. Officers also contacted child protective services. The BPD arrest reports also said an officer told the mother and grandfather that it not normal for the children to see officers and want to jump into their arms. As of August 29, 24 year old Shayla House of Bedias and 59 year old Earnest Williams of Huntsville were held in lieu of bonds of $25,000 dollars each.

A College Station father and his girlfriend admit in Brazos County district court to endangering the life of the father’s four year old son in June of 2024. This is after the child was hospitalized in critical condition after ingesting THC. A plea agreement with the district attorney’s office included a 12 month sentence in a state jail for the father, 29 year old Dniko Gardner, and five years probation for 28 year old Octasha Dorsey. Online court records also show Gardner violated probation for a second time to a forgery that took place seven years ago. And Dorsey remains on modified probation for manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone that took place almost six years ago.
