Bryan Planning & Zoning Commission Recommends Banning Future Placement Of Manufactured Homes On Individual Lots

The Bryan planning and zoning commission has recommended to the city council, banning future placement of manufactured homes on individual lots.

Thursday night’s 9-0 vote followed 90 minutes of comments from 25 opponents to the zoning change, along with 30 minutes from P&Z members responding to the public comments.

The city council is tentatively scheduled to consider final action April 9.

The full P&Z adopted recommendations of a subcommittee to eliminate a 30 year old zoning district.

Future manufactured homes would be located only in manufactured home communities.

The recommendation affects the owners of an estimated 600 vacant lots in Bryan.
