A week has gone by since the Bryan City Council told voters they get to decide whether to sell the municipal golf course and suggest whether Briarcrest Country Club should be purchased.
Mayor Jason Bienski says there is not a standing offer to buy the city park property contingent on voter approval.
Bienski sees the possibility of selling the city park, using some of the money to buy Briarcrest, and applying the rest towards other parks and recreation projects.
Bienski, who is involved in real estate but is not a certified appraiser, estimates the value of the municipal course and surrounding park property between three and nine million dollars.
It will be a binding vote expanding the land use at the municipal course, while it’s a non-binding vote on the city buying Briarcrest.
