A Bryan man who failed to make a court appearance in Houston on a capital murder charge is in the Brazos County jail.

According to online records, 24 year old Joshua Wortham has been arrested twice this month in Brazos County.

On April 5, Wortham was released on bond following his arrest by a sheriff’s deputy on misdemeanor charges of fleeing from a police officer and possessing marijuana.

Early Tuesday morning, Bryan police responded to a 9-1-1 call from a crying woman. According to the BPD arrest report, a man got on the phone, said “NO COPS!”, then hung up.

BPD arrested Wortham on charges of family violence assault of his girlfriend and interfering with an emergency call.

He is being held without bond on a Harris County warrant charging him with failing to appear for an April 6 court hearing related to a capital murder shooting death that took place in December 2016.
