For the second time this year, a Bryan man is arrested for evading. This is after two Brazos County sheriff’s deputies were looking for him to arrest him on a warrant for child abandonment or endangerment that took place in January. 39 year old Jason Oehme was caught Tuesday (April 2) following a foot chase east of 29th and Briar Oaks. Jail records also show Oehme is being held in pending court cases from additional charges from January 2024 for evading and resisting arrest, drug possession, and failing to identify himself. As of Thursday afternoon (April 4), Oehme remains jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $94,000 dollars.

A hit and run and a rollover crash in College Station Wednesday night (April 3) led to a driver’s arrest on a DWI charge. The College Station police arrest report included a witness saying she saw a car with an open trunk lid swerving in traffic on Texas Avenue. Then the car struck a vehicle and left the scene. The car was found flipped over after turning into an apartment complex off Harvey Road at a high rate of speed. The driver, who was removed from his car by College Station firefighters, was taken to the hospital before going to jail. He was identified as 21 year old Hannan Veera of College Station. As of Thursday afternoon (April 4), bond was not set according to online records.
