Robert Fieler and the district attorney’s office entered a plea agreement where he will serve 18 years for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct for firing the gun, and unlawful possession of the gun by a felon.
No one was struck by the gunfire at an RV park off FM 60 between Easterwood Airport and the Brazos River.
One of the aggravated assault convictions was for firing the gun. The other was for pointing the gun at witnesses.
News release from the Brazos County district attorney’s office:
On December 2, 2025, Robert Fieler pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Dead-ly Weapon, Deadly Conduct, and Un-lawful Possession of a Firearm. The defendant was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
On May 19, 2024, deputies with the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to reports of shots being fired at an RV Park. When deputies arrived, they observed the defendant standing near an RV holding a sword in one hand and a handgun in the other. The defendant complied with the deputies’ commands to drop his weapons and was taken into custody.
When interviewed, multiple civilians on scene reported witnessing the defendant fire the handgun at an RV. After shooting into the RV, the defendant also pointed the firearm at witnesses and threatened them. EMS was called to the scene to evaluate the victims and the defendant, who had made multiple incoherent statements during the incident and his arrest. The defendant was also later taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Deputies executed a search warrant on the defendant’s RV and recovered multiple rounds of ammunition. The search additionally uncovered 3 grams of a crystalline substance later determined to be methamphetamine.
Statement from assistant Brazos County district attorney Ryan Golden: “This case is a warning of the violence that can result from an individual’s choice to use dangerous drugs. Getting drunk or high is no excuse when a person endangers the lives of multiple people in this way. There must be a consequence.”
