Bryan ISD athletic director Lance Angel has returned to Palestine.
Palestine ISD’s Facebook page introduced Angel as AD and head football coach.
Angel held those positions from 2010 until 2014 before coming to Bryan.
According to a Bryan ISD news release announcing Angel’s hiring, his teams in Palestine won 10 different district titles, with seven of eight sports qualifying for playoffs in the past two years. During his tenure, the percentage of student athletes increased from 25 percent of the student body to 41 percent.
Prior to serving in Palestine, Angel was athletic director and head football coach in Canton ISD (2006-2010), where teams won 10 titles in various sports and he was named District Coach of the Year (2007).
From 2002–2006, Angel served Cooper ISD as athletic director, head football coach and head track coach, leading teams to district championships.
He served in assistant coaching roles for Aledo ISD (offensive coordinator for football), Elgin ISD (varsity football, secondary and running backs) and Wink ISD (varsity football, secondary and receivers).
