The carrot isn’t as large as last year, but Bryan school district employees have again been offered cash to resign. The offer applies to the first 150 full-time employees who apply by March 9th.
Board of Trustees President Maritza Hoffman says they’re again continuing to look to reduce the budget with the early resignation incentive.
Comments from Maritza Hoffman.
Added to this year’s incentive list are teachers with less than three years experience and bus drivers. For teachers with at least three years in Bryan ISD, they’re being offered less compared to last year.
For 2012, teachers with 0-2 years get $500; all employees with 3-15 years would receive 3% of their annual base salary up to a max of $3,000. All employees with 15 plus years would receive 7% of annual base salary up to max of $5,000. Employees will be required to complete the school year in order to receive the incentive pay.
In 2011, those with 3 to 15 years experience received a one time payment of 5% of their annual base salary with a maximum of $5,000 dollars. Those with 16 years or more in the district received 10% or a maximum of $7,000. And the deadline for taking the 2011 offer was April 1st.
