Tax rates in the Bryan school district will remain the same next year. Chief Financial Officer Amy Drozd says Bryan ISD Trustees decided against holding a tax rollback election for the second straight year.
The tradeoff is the Bryan district is still left with a $1.8 million dollar budget deficit for the next school year.
BISD will again be taxed at the maximum $1.04 for operations and maintenance. Drozd said the tax rate for debt service should remain at 25 cents.
Setting the budget and the tax rate didn’t have to be done until August. But the Bryan trustees will hold their public hearings July 12th because the calendar had been moved up in case the board
