Bryan school board members are told plans remain in place if the pandemic causes the district to end in-person learning.

Superintendent Christie Whitbeck told the board Monday night that Bryan ISD since the school year started has had 224 positive cases out of 15,865 students and 2,600 employees.

Whitbeck pointed out the 94 employees and 130 students who have been infected makes up 1.2 percent of the district’s population.

She also said in tours of two campuses last week, only one student was not wearing a face covering.

Preparing for the worse case scenario after Thanksgiving break, Dr. Whitbeck said students in grades 5 through 12 will have devices, and in kindergarten through fourth grade devices will be ready for pickup at campuses if needed.
