Bryan ISD Opening Gifted Testing To In-District Home School And Private School Students

Parents of home-schooled and private school students living in the Bryan school district have been asking about testing their children for gifted and talented programs.

That led to the school board approving a change in the district’s testing policy.

Director of advanced academics Christina Richardson presented the request to the Bryan school board.

Superintendent Christie Whitbeck also voiced her support.

Dr. Whitbeck says parents will be charged a “nominal fee” for the testing.

The board also approved a second change which clarifies the appeal process.

The revised policy will be implemented after a review by the Texas Association of School Boards.
