Bryan ISD Executive Director of Athletics Janice Williamson is retiring at the end of the school year. Williamson’s retirement was announced at the annual retirement banquet of Bryan ISD employees held last night.
Williamson has served 43 years at Bryan ISD and 46 years in education. She has spent the last five years in her current position as the Executive Director of Athletics and was named the district’s Director of Student Health, Fitness and Athletics beginning in 2007.
Williamson graduated from Bryan High and founded the Bryan Vikings softball program in 1988. The team won a state championship in 2002, finished runner-up in 2000 and 2003 and finished third in 1996.
There is no indication of how the Director of Athletics position will be filled.
