Bryan & CS City Employees Receiving Year End Bonuses

In time for the holidays, city employees in Bryan and College Station are receiving $1.4 million dollars in bonuses.

Bryan City Manager Kean Register says nearly seven hundred qualifying workers were surprised last week when each received a check for a net $750 dollars. Register, who did not give himself the bonus, says it was a thank-you for their part in turning around the city’s reserve fund from a $2 million dollar deficit to a $5 million dollar surplus.

College Station City Manager David Neeley says in Friday’s regular paycheck for qualifying employees will be a net bonus of $500 dollars.  It’s a one-time distribution based on $900,000 in unexpected savings generated by city employees.
