Bryan Councilman Responds To Criticism Of Removing Fences And Lights At Henderson Park Ballfields

What used to be baseball fields at Bryan’s Henderson Park is being turned into one open area.

City councilman Reuben Marin responded at last Tuesday night’s city council meeting to criticism by explaining the light poles had to come down because they were rotted.

Marin, whose district includes the park, also said Bryan United Little League gave the green light to remove fencing that was more than 50 years old.

Marin says the open area will create the opportunity for pickup games in baseball and soccer, which the councilman says is more popular in that neighborhood.
