A Bryan city council discussion at this week’s workshop meeting (March 18) included more industries headed to the north side of town.
Mayor Bobby Gutierrez shared a list that will be located along what will be a rebuilt Mumford Road north of Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
Gutierrez did not identify who purchased the next to last available tract of land that will join the new CertainTeed roofing plant and distribution center and the Brown Oak master brick factory.
The mayor’s comments came before the council approved a funding agreement where the city will be reimbursed $4.5 million dollars by the city-county economic development foundation towards the estimated $8 million dollar cost of making Mumford Road a three lane road. The project is designed to handle traffic to and from those industrial locations and the Bryan ISD career and technical education center.

Another road project approved at this week’s Bryan council meeting was awarding a $655,700 contract to design Leonard Road to become a three lane street with curbs and gutters between Harvey Mitchell Parkway and the roundabout with Palasota and Groesbeck.
