Bryan Council Extends Agreement To Collect Delinquent Court Debts

In the first six and a half months of this year, Bryan Municipal Court has received $217,000 dollars from a collection agency hired to clean up delinquent accounts.

The city council Tuesday night approved a one year contract extension.

But that came with a condition from Councilman Chuck Konderla to consider proposals from competitors next year.

Court administrator Hilda Cuthbertson and City Secretary Mary Lynne Stratta were among city officials thrilled with the results from the collection agency.

The Bryan based company, which keeps 30 percent of what they collect, also handles overdue accounts for College Station, Brazos County, and jurisdictions in surrounding counties.
