Bryan/College Station Salvation Army Reports More Than 1,200 Angel Tree Recipients Still Need To Be Adopted

Three weeks remain in the Bryan/College Station Salvation Army’s Angel Tree drive.

Captain Tim Israel says more than 1,200 angels are yet to be adopted.

During his latest visit on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, Israel encouraged adopting a few children or an entire family.

Angels can be adopted at Post Oak Mall, all three Blue Baker locations, and online at salvationarmybcs.org.

The website also lets you volunteer for the Army’s Angel Tree and red kettle campaigns.

News release from the Bryan/College Station Salvation Army:

With just weeks left before the deadline for all Angel Tree gifts to be returned, The Salvation Army still has over 1,200 angels yet to be adopted. The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program in Bryan/College Station provides toys and Christmas gifts for more than 1,000 children each year.

The Salvation Army is accepting donations from November 12th until December 13th, every day, except Sundays and Thanksgiving Day until December 13th. On December 16th & 17th, all gifts will be distributed to enrolled and approved families. The Salvation Army Angel Trees with available angels will be located at Post Oak Mall and all three Blue Baker locations in College Station. Donors are not limited to how many angels they can adopt and are welcome to choose however many they please. “We still desperately are in need of the community to come out and adopt those angels and help us be able to provide clothes and toys this Christmas to children in need,” said Captain Timothy Israel of The Salvation Army. “Your kindness ensures every child has a gift to open on Christmas morning, and that parents don’t have to decide between paying bills or buying toys.”

Walmart has partnered with The Salvation Army to make it possible for donors to purchase needed items online that will be delivered directly to The Salvation Army. You can search for The Salvation Army Bryan/College Station at www.walmartangeltree.com and order items today that will benefit local families.

Not only are program recipients filled with joy as they collect their gifts, but volunteers experience the joy of giving when serving in the Angel Tree program. Numerous companies and individuals alike make volunteering a tradition at Christmas time. Donors, businesses, and volunteers help create a lifetime of memories for children in need through The Salvation Army Angel Tree.
