The Bryan/College Station Salvation Army office has announced details of its largest fundraiser of the year.
The 15th annual “Doing The Most Good Luncheon” is May 21st at the Brazos Center.
This year’s keynote speaker is the dean of Texas A&M’s Bush School, John Sherman.
The luncheon will also have the presentation of a special community award of retired printing company owner Louis Newman, recognizing his lifetime of supporting the agency.

The Salvation Army of Bryan/College Station is pleased to announce its 15th Annual Doing the Most Good Luncheon, the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year. The luncheon will take place at a new location, The Brazos Center, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, with doors opening at 11 AM, and will feature an outstanding program celebrating service, leadership, and local impact.
This year’s keynote speaker is The Honorable John B. Sherman ’92, Dean of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. With more than 30 years of service to the United States, including senior roles in the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and the White House, Dean Sherman brings a distinguished record of leadership and public service. Guests can expect compelling insights from his decades of national service and his reflections on a life dedicated to serving others.
The Salvation Army will also proudly honor Louis Newman III with a special community award recognizing his lifetime of advocacy and generous support of Salvation Army programs in Bryan/College Station. His longstanding commitment has helped strengthen essential services and transform countless lives in the community.
