Bryan City Manager Explains Purpose of Year End Budget Balance

City manager Kean Register says $65 million of the balance of that is the city’s minimum reserve covering 22 different funds.

The council unanimously agreed to wait until the audit is complete from last year’s budget to determine how much additional money is available.

Budget savings and unexpected revenue in recent years provided funding in Bryan for among other things more firefighters and police officers.
