A $50 million dollar project from a subsidiary of a Houston based energy company could be coming to the RELLIS campus.
The Bryan city council has issued a meeting notice for December 9th to consider offering property tax breaks to a division of Occidental Petroleum.
A statement from Oxy Low Carbon Ventures says they are evaluating options for additional research and demonstration facilities for technologies that pulls carbon dioxide directly from the air. Those options includes potential opportunities at the RELLIS campus.
The Bryan council’s notice for the December 9th meeting proposes property tax breaks on a $10 million dollar research complex and $40 million for equipment, machinery, and other tangible personal property.
The meeting notice does not provide a timetable to build the complex or the potential number of employees or payroll.
