The Bryan city council is negotiating an economic development agreement with a current manufacturer at the Bryan Industrial Park.
The council was scheduled to take action on the agreement with American Lumber during their November 9 meeting, but the item was withdrawn from the agenda.
A city spokesperson tells WTAW News “negotiations are continuing and the deal terms will change from what was in the meeting agenda.”
The proposal that was withdrawn was an $8 million dollar project that would have more than doubled its manufacturing space.
American Lumber was proposing a 31,000 square foot manufacturing addition and three storage buildings with a combined capacity of 54,000 square feet.
A minimum of 14 full time jobs would be created with an average annual pay of $50,000 dollars.
In return, the council would reimburse property taxes and waive building permit fees over a five year period totaling up to $155,000 dollars.
