In recent weeks, the Bryan city council has had considerable discussion about the current and future list of capital improvement projects (CIP).
Tuesday afternoon, council members will be boarding a bus to check out locations of CIP projects previously approved through 2018.
Public Works Director Jayson Barfknecht says they’ll be out approximately two hours, covering more than 40 miles in all five districts.
Dr. Barfknecht also expects along the way that council members will suggest street and other projects that could be funded from the CIP or other city funds.
Barfknecht says new projects that will receive consideration includes extending a sidewalk from Sam Rayburn Middle School along the northbound freeway service road to an existing sidewalk at Old Reliance Road/Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. He says that’s the result of recent traffic accidents and a request from the Bryan school district.
