Bryan City Council Approve Bryan ISD’s Request To Limit Access At Two Parks During School Hours

Bryan city councilmen approve restricting access to two parks next to elementary school campuses.

Tuesday’s 6-0 vote followed questions and concerns from mayor Andrew Nelson about homeschooled children being able to use Villa West and Tiffany parks, which are located next to Branch and Bowen elementaries.

Deputy city manager Hugh Walker addressed Nelson’s concerns.

 

An amended agreement between the city and Bryan ISD gives school administrators the authority on school days to eject from, or refuse entry to, anyone who poses a substantial risk of harm to any person, or if the person behaves in a manner that is inappropriate fo a school setting.
