Bryan Broadcasting’s Hispanic radio station gets a national award.
LaJefa 102.7’s Nelly Mauricio received the Medallas de Cortez sales person of the year award.
Radio Ink magazine’s Medallas de Cortez awards recognizes excellence in Hispanic radio programming, sales, and management, named in honor of Raoul Cortez, who founded the first Spanish-language radio station in the United States, KCOR, in San Antonio in 1946.
LaJefa 102.7 was a finalist as station of the year, Alberto Vega as program director of the year, Jason Carranza as marketer of the year, Dale Hendry for sales manager of the year, and Tommy Ramirez for salesperson of the year.
This year’s awards were presented at the 17th Hispanic Radio Conference that was held May 27th and 28th in Phoenix.
Vega was among conference speakers.
