Brazos Valley has plenty of playoff teams

There are some 20 Brazos Valley teams in the high school playoffs after the regular season ended on Friday night, including both A&M Consolidated and Bryan.

Consol captured the outright 12-5A title with a 56-49 win over Belton.

The Tigers will meet Tyler Lee at 7:30 Friday night in Ennis in the bi-district round.

Bryan got a 35-31 win over Temple in their finale and will meet DeSoto Saturday night at 7:30 in Corsicana.

The Navasota Rattlers won district 23-3A with a 31-7 win over Giddings and will meet 9-1 Sealy Friday at 7:30 in Waller.

The undefeated Brenham Cubs will meet Humble Kingwood Park at 2 Saturday in Humble.

Other Brazos Valley team in post-season play are Madisonville, Rockdale, Cameron, Lexington, Franklin, Leon, Normangee, Bremond, Milano, Calvert, St. Joseph, Allen Academy and Brazos Christian. Several of those team have first-round byes.
