Brazos Transit District Receiving $8.8 Million Dollars In Federal Coronavirus Relief Money

Senator John Cornyn and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announces another coronavirus grant for the Brazos Valley.

The Brazos Transit District (BTD) is getting $8.8 million dollars.

According to the DOT news release, part of the money is going to support BTD’s paratransit service. According to BTD’s website, paratransit is available in Bryan/College Station, The Woodlands, Nacogdoches, Lufkin, and Cleveland.

Some of the money will go towards fixed routes in the district’s 16 county service area.

The rest will go towards the purchase of materials to protect employees and riders, including personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies.
