The Brazos County sheriff’s office is using a recent arrest on a charge stealing calves as invitation for ranchers to enroll in a prevention program.

The HEART program…an acronym which stands for help end agriculture and ranch theft…provides a unique number that can be added to livestock tags and equipment.

The invitation comes following the arrest of a Somerville man, 25 year old Kaleb Roberson, on a felony theft charge of stealing up to $150,000 dollars of livestock.

A news release from the sheriff’s office says the arrest follows Roberson selling two stolen calves.

Roberson is out of jail after posting a $50,000 dollar bond.
