Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Releases More Information About Gunfire Outside A Wixon Valley Business

The Brazos County sheriff’s office releases more information about a disturbance Monday during the noon hour in the parking lot of a Wixon Valley business.

The disturbance outside Pioneer Steel & Pipe resulted in gunfire that killed 28 year old Bradley Marshall of Madison County.

A sheriff’s spokesman tells WTAW News that Marshall, who was not associated with the business, attempted to open the door of a customer’s truck while it was occupied by the customer’s family members.

The customer had just stepped out of the four door truck just before Marshall attempted to open a door.

After Marshall made statements saying he was going to take the truck, there was a physical struggle between Marshall and the customer where Marshall struck the customer several times.

During the fight, the customer got a gun from his truck and fired multiple shots.

An undisclosed number of shots hit Marshall, who died at the scene.

The unidentified customer accidentally shot himself and was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The case remains under investigation and no charges have been filed as of the afternoon of August 5th.

Investigators with the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the shooting incident that occurred on Monday, August 4, 2025, in the 9400 block of East Highway 21.

The deceased individual has been identified as 28-year-old Bradley Marshall of Madison County. Preliminary findings indicate that Mr. Marshall approached a customer in the parking lot of a local business and attempted to open the door of the customer’s truck, which was occupied by the customer and his family. It was reported that Mr. Marshall made statements indicating he was going to take the vehicle.

A physical struggle followed between Mr. Marshall and the customer. Marshall struck the customer several times. During the fight, the customer retrieved a firearm from the truck and fired multiple shots, striking Mr. Marshall. The customer also sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Marshall died at the scene.

No charges have been filed at this time. The case remains under investigation.

The Brazos County sheriff’s office is investigating gunfire at a Wixon Valley business.

A news release says one person died and a second was transported for a non life threatening gunshot wound.

Deputies responded Monday (August 4) during the noon hour to a disturbance at Pioneer Steel & Pipe on Highway 21 east of FM 2776.

No employees were involved and no arrests have been made.

Names have not been released pending family notification and the ongoing investigation.

On Monday, August 4, 2025, at approximately 12:41 p.m., deputies with the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a disturbance in the 9400 block of East Highway 21.

Upon arrival, deputies located the two involved individuals. Both had sustained gunshot wounds.

Preliminary investigation indicates that during the altercation one subject was shot and died from their injuries at the scene.

The second subject, believed to have fired the weapon, also sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound during the incident and was transported for medical treatment.

No employees at the business location were involved. At this time, the identities of those involved are being withheld pending family notification and further investigation.

This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
