If Vice President Joe Biden isn’t your cup of tea, there might be a political rally for you this weekend.

According to Brazos Valley Republican Chair Paul Rieger, organizers intend to reclaim American themes and traditions.

Press Release from the Brazos County Republican Party
BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION, TX – On September 25, 2010 at the Wolf Pen Creek Park Amphitheater in College Station, Texas concerned voters from the Southern six counties of the Texas Congressional District 17 are uniting in a rally sponsored by the GOP organizations in Brazos and Grimes Counties and by the Bryan/College Station TEA Party, the Brazos Valley Conservatives (Burleson County), the Grimes County TEA Party and the Madison County TEA Party. The Amphitheater gates will open at 5PM and the program will be from 6PM to 8PM.
This multi-county coalition of conservatives will focus on the detrimental results of the progressive liberal agenda now being pushed by in both the Texas and US Houses and Senates. Suggestions for actions voters can take to stop this agenda will be made.
Rally speakers include:
* Texas Senator Steve Ogden (SD 5),
* Texas Senator Dan Patrick (SD7),
* Texas Workforce Chairman and Reagan administration official Tom Pauken,
* Texas Representative Debbie Riddle (Dist. 150),
* Presiding Judge Albert McCaig, Jr. 506th JDC,
* Dr. Steve Opersteny,
* and Curtis Collier from Border Watch.
Many conservative candidates and incumbents will also be in attendance.
On October 27, 1964 Ronald Reagan said, “The Founding Fathers knew a government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. So we have come to a time for choosing.” The organizers believe, as did Ronald Reagan in 1964, that we have come to that time of choosing – AGAIN! With that in view we will propose activities that each attendee can CHOOSE to do to insure conservatives go to the polls and vote to replace those who are now in office who have neither their constituents nor the US Constitution in mind when they pass bills. These activities include getting family, friends and neighbors registered to vote before October 4, 2010, participating in block walks and phone banks for conservative candidates in their local areas and last but not least getting out the conservative vote on November 2, 2010 by offering rides to the polls.
Music will be provided by the “Texas Dirt Road Band” and by David Saucedo aka “POLATIK”. Food service vendors will be available with a variety of snacks and drinks. There will also be information booths for the Bill Flores for Congress campaign, Governor Rick Perry, and other conservative candidates. Also there will be various GOP and TEA Party sponsored booths. The Texas Patriot TEA Party from Johnson County will also bring in their FREEDOM TRAILER that has been “dressed” by artist Gary Couch of Burleson, TX. The artist will be at the rally.
