Brazos County Precinct Two Constable Down Two Deputies

For the first time since he took office ten years ago, Brazos County Precinct Two Constable Donald Lampo will be down two deputies.

One is from the recent resignation of Agustin Rubio, who was arrested two weeks ago on a kidnapping charge in College Station. Lampo says that position will be replaced after the start of the county’s new budget year on October 1st.

While doing their jobs, Lampo says they’ve been assisting the College Station Police Department’s investigation of the former deputy.

Lampo referred all questions about the criminal investigation to College Station Police, including whether any other complaints have been filed. And there’s been no comment from College Station investigators.

Meantime, Lampo will be relying more on his remaining full-time staff and his reserves.  In addition to the opening from Rubio’s resignation, Lampo says a second full-time deputy will have knee surgery later this week.

That leaves Lampo with three deputies, his chief deputy, and seven reserves.
