Brazos County Getting Multimillion Dollar Software Upgrade

A recent purchase approved by the Brazos County Commission isn’t very flashy…except for its price tag.

At $3.8 million dollars, the county is replacing computer software that County Judge Duane Peters says affects the entire criminal justice system.

Peters says the upgrade impacts deputies issuing tickets through the court system throughout computers.

The original price tag, over $5 million dollars, was pared down during two years of negotiations.

Peters says the new software, which will take up to two years to install, replaces a system that’s been in use since 2000.

Duane Peters visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
