Two drunk driving arrests in consecutive months last year combined with a prior felony conviction results in prison time for a Bryan man. 41 year old Michael Thomas entered a plea agreement where he faced up to 20 years but was sentenced to 12. Some of that time has already been served, since Thomas has been jailed since last May when his bond was revoked.
In a separate case heard Thursday in Brazos County District Court, a criminal history also meant prison time. 41 year old Benjamin Lewis of Dallas was convicted of a forging a check. But because Lewis had 28 priors in five other counties, the forgery was enhanced and he was sentenced to the state maximum of ten years.
