A Bryan woman admits in Brazos County district court to violating probation from her third conviction for DWI and pleading guilty to her fourth DWI. 44 year old Ebony Stewart was sentenced to four years for the DWI’s that took place in July 2024 and in 2021. Last year’s arrest, according to a Bryan police arrest report, came after a report that Stewart’s SUV went through the drive thru of a fast food restaurant three times without placing an order. A spokeswoman in the district attorney’s office says Stewart’s blood alcohol level was more than two and a half times the legal limit at .227.

A College Station woman’s 24th trip to the Brazos County jail is to await her transfer to a state prison for the third time. Online court records shows the day after her 51st birthday, Melinda Ybarra pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years to shoplifting $233 dollars of merchandise from the west Bryan Walmart and possessing two THC vape pens at the time of her arrest in June 2024. A plea agreement with the district attorney’s office includes a four year prison sentence. Ybarra previously went to prison in 2006 for violating probation after admitting to sexual assaulting a child that took place in 1996. She returned to prison after pleading guilty in 2016 to failing to register as a sex offender.
