A Bryan man admits this month in Brazos County district court to injuring a family member in July 2021 and violating probation from a prior conviction where in June 2009 he cut a former employer in the forehead with a machete. In a plea agreement with the district attorney’s office, 42 year old Israel Flores was sentenced to six years in prison for both incidents. The plea agreement, which can not be appealed, also calls for Flores to have no contact with the victims for the victims families.

For the second time in 18 months and the third time since 1998, a man who used to live in Bryan admits to felony crimes in Brazos County district court. Online records show a plea agreement between the district attorney’s office and 49 year old Brad Bishop includes a five year prison sentence for forgery. The Bryan police arrest report says Bishop was charged with forging checks for $387 and $392 dollars on the account of someone who was 65 or older. Online records show Bishop was sentenced to nine months in a state jail for felony drug and theft charges in June 2022 and to 12 months in a state jail for felony forgery that took place in July of 1998.
