The Brazos County district attorney’s office reports a jury takes took two hours to find a College Station man guilty sexually abusing a girl starting at the age of 12 and ending when she was 19.

Then the jury spent 18 minutes to decide punishment of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

59 year old Randy Czerpak was arrested in October 2020 for the contact that court records said began in 2014.

Czerpak was out of jail on bond while five trial dates came and went.

Then he failed to appear for the trial that was supposed to start February 9th.

He was found the same day and taken to jail, where he remained until the trial took place last week.

News release from the Brazos County district attorney’s office issued February 26, 2026:

Randy Czerpak, 59, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole today by a Brazos County Jury. The jury deliberated for approximately 18 minutes before returning their verdict. The same jury convicted Czerpak of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child on Wednesday following approximately two hours of deliberation.

Czerpak was arrested on October 29, 2020 and charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse. The arrest followed an investigation that lasted a little over two weeks.

On October 13, 2020, a female in Czerpak’s family went to College Station Police Department and reported that the defendant had sexually abused her beginning at age 12. She also reported that the abuse continued after she turned 17, finally ending when she was 19 years old. She told police about the grooming techniques he used on her beginning when she was around nine years old.

Following her report to CSPD, the survivor recorded a conversation with the defendant in which he acknowledged the sexual abuse, and did not deny that it had begun when she was 12 years old.

The jury heard from the survivor who described the years of abuse she endured, as well as the years of counseling and therapy she had been through leading up to and following her disclosure. The jury also heard from the CSPD detective, as well as an expert in child sexual abuse who explained for the jury the trauma healing process and the possible effects this abuse will have on the survivor for the rest of her life. Finally, the jury heard that the defendant did not show up for his originally scheduled trial on February 9 and was taken into custody at a hotel in Bryan after a brief interaction with the Bryan Police Department.

Statement from assistant Brazos County district attorneys Kara Comte and Tonika Davis: “This case sends a clear message that sexual abuse of a child is one of the most serious offenses in our community. While nothing can undo the trauma this young lady has endured, we are hopeful this sentence will aid in her healing. Protecting children will remain one of our high-est priorities.”
