Brazos County DA’s Office Announces Two Domestic Violence Abusers Going To Prison

The Brazos County district attorney’s office announces two domestic violence abusers are sentenced to prison. According to online records, the Bryan men have been in jail a combined 46 times over the last 16 years.

The 30th booking for 37 year old Michael Shivers took place in June of last year. After a Brazos County jury convicted Shivers in July for strangling his ex-girlfriend, he was sentenced to nine years in prison for the assault. The punishment also includes admitting to locking his two small children in the victim’s home then telling police the kids were abandoned.

The other man, 33 year old Cody Henley, has been in jail for the 16th time since September of last year. The d-a’s office reported Henley pleaded guilty to family violence charges that took place four times between June 2017 and August of last year. Henley was sentenced to a total of four years for assaulting his wife three times and his father.
