Brazos County DA’s Office Announces Guilty Pleas In Two Criminal Cases

A College Station man who survived being shot almost eight years ago is headed to prison. The Brazos County district attorney’s office reports 39 year old Edward Figgers admitted to threatening his sister with a knife in February of last year. Figgers also pleaded guilty to at least five other crimes, including assaulting his girlfriend three years ago. Figgers was sentenced to a total of 12 years. In June of 2010, Figgers was shot twice in the mid-section during an argument. At the time of the shooting, Bryan police reported the wounds were not life-threatening.

An inmate at the Brazos County jail is headed to prison after admitting to slamming a detention officer into a wall last year. According to the district attorney’s office, the 25 year sentence given to 35 year old Rodrick Manley was due to his criminal history. The detention officer received multiple cuts and bruises from the assault.
