Brazos County District Attorney Bill Turner says he’s not running for re-election.
Appointed in 1983 and elected seven times, Turner says it’s the right time to step down. Turner says evaluating where he might be in four and a half years, he didn’t want to become tired, bored, or complacement.
Turner says in 2013, he may return to his hometown of Midland or may stay in Bryan/College Station. He doesn’t rule out a move to the private sector or remaining in the public sector as a prosecutor or possibly becoming a teacher.
Turner says Deputy Jarvis Parsons is considering a run for the D-A’s job in next year’s election.
Brazos County District Attorney Bill Turner visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver about the decision not to run for re-election in 2012.
