A College Station man is unsuccessful in his fifth attempt to evade arrest on multiple criminal charges.

College Station Police Lt. Steve Brock says a tip from Brazos County Crime Stoppers led multiple officers to Bee Creek Park Saturday afternoon…and the capture of 28 year old James Loftis.

According to arrest reports, Loftis ran away from four detectives the week before…after he and his girlfriend were spotted at the Dairy Queen at Texas and Brentwood.

Loftis also ran away Labor Day weekend, after his girlfriend said he struck and strangled her with a hammer in her home in Southgate Village Apartments.

Loftis was also arrested for evading CSPD officers in June and July, for possessing drugs in a drug free zone, and driving without a license.

Loftis remains jailed on bonds totaling $178,000 dollars. And jail records state he is supposed to serve six months for failing to pay child support in Robertson County.
