Brazos County Constables And Deputies Present Donation To Brazos Church Pantry For No-Shave November

From the Brazos County communications office:

Complete with bearded faces, constables and deputies from all four Brazos County precincts played Santa Friday morning for the Brazos Church Pantry.

The pantry was the recipient of proceeds from the constable’s “No-Shave November” fundraiser.

Deputies and other constable employees participated by making cash donations.

The Brazos Church Pantry is a non-profit organization which operates with help from local churches and volunteers. It receives food either through donations, or it purchases food, primarily through the Brazos Valley Food Bank, at a fraction of retail cost.

The constables presented the pantry with the contributions from each precinct, without knowing the specific amount. That’s because they wanted each contributor to give as much or as little as they wanted to or could, with no pressure.

“These are people who serve the county’s residents on a daily basis. It’s who they are. It’s only natural that they would want to take part in a way to give back even more,” said Precinct 2 Constable Donald Lampo.

The constables originally decided to shave December 1, but they’ve decided to keep the scruff through December and shave January 1 instead. Lampo said “it just now stopped itching… so why give up so soon?!”
