Action at this week’s Brazos County commission meeting (July 15) included moving ahead with four road and bridge projects.
There was no public discussion before commissioners awarded two road rebuilding contracts.
One is a $4 million dollar contract to rebuild more than one and a half miles of Old Reliance Road…from near Carrabba Road to near Andert Road.

And bids will be sought to replace the railroad crossing on Democrat Road, which is part of a larger project to repave the county road east of Kurten. On the meeting agenda, the Democrat Road project was identified as requesting permission “to replace a rail car crossing on Democrat Road”. The one-half mile project will include new pavement and drainage.
