Brazos County Commissioners Get The Needed Evidence To Approve A $5K Refund Of Property Tax Penalties And Interest

Brazos County commissioners have reversed a decision that results in a refund of property tax payment penalties and interest of more than $5,000 dollars.

Three weeks ago, commissioners denied the request because there was no evidence the payment envelope was addressed to the current tax office.

After that, the applicant visited assistant county attorney Bruce Erratt.

Erratt said he was presented evidence that the payment envelope was addressed to the current tax office.

That led to the commission’s unanimous vote approving the refund at this week’s meeting.
