A defective brake light leads to an investigator with the Brazos County Attorney’s office being arrested for drunk driving.

50 year old Gerald Kinard remains at work according to County Attorney Rod Anderson on a modified duty assignment.

Kinard was arrested Saturday by a Grimes County sheriff’s deputy.

According to the arrest report, Kinard told the deputy he had been in Brenham playing in a band when he was pulled over on Highway 6 on the north side of Navasota.

Kinard told the deputy and a DPS trooper he was refusing to perform field sobriety tests and provide a breath sample.

That led to Kinard’s arrest for DWI and getting a court order to draw a blood test.

Kinard was released from the Grimes County jail after posting bond.
