The Brazos Central Appraisal District (BCAD) has cleared its first hurdle on its third attempt for its own building next to the new tax office.
County commissioners on Tuesday unanimously approved selling the land and gave the thumbs up for the $3 million dollar office building. Approval is required from four of the five elected bodies that govern the district in order to proceed.
BCAD board member John Flynn says their next appearance is the next Bryan school board meeting…after meeting with the board’s finance committee last week behind closed doors.
BCAD will also appear before the Bryan and College Station city councils and the College Station school board.
Subject to those approvals, Flynn says they will close on the $300,000 thousand dollar purchase of the land, hire architects, and hire a contractor.
