BPD Investigating Shooting

What was going to be a routine traffic stop for a seat belt violation, led to the arrest of four men in Northgate Saturday night. College Station Police patrolling around 10:00pm saw a vehicle with four occupants, none wearing a seatbelt. When the vehicle pulled over, the officer could smell marijuana coming from the car. Police also say a Glock handgun was easily viewable in the pocket on the back of the driver’s seat and another Glock was laying on the back seat with an extended magazine. Police also found numerous rounds of ammunition wrapped in a ski mask in the glove box. The driver, 21-year-old Jaelon Lashawn Jackson, was found with a large amount of cash. He was arrested for Not Wearing a Seatbelt. He was released on a Personal Recognizance Bond. It was Jackson’s 10th time in the Brazos County Jail. Passenger #1, 21-year-old Montavian Raquon Reed, was also found with a large amount of cash. He admitted that the Glock in the back seat was his. He was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Not Wearing a Seatbelt. Reed was released on $5,000 bond. It was his 6th time in the Brazos County Jail. Passenger #2, 22-year-old Kentun Jaaron King was arrested for Not Wearing a Seatbelt and an outstanding warrant. He paid $485 in association with the warrant and was released on a Personal Recognizance Bond. It was his 7th time in the Brazos County Jail. Passenger #3, 22-year-old Christian Xavier Black was arrested for Not Wearing a Seatbelt and an outstanding warrant. He was granted a PR Bond for his seatbelt violation, but he remains jailed on $896.50 bond on the warrant for possession of Marijuana. It is his 3rd time in the Brazos County Jail.

The Gilmer Police Department is searching for missing child Tiffany Griffith, 16 years old, White, Female, last seen wearing a black shirt, white pants, and black and white shoes. The missing child was last seen at 6:05PM, on 08/26/2026 at the 200 Block of Dean Street, Gilmer, TX 75644. Law enforcement officials believe Griffith to be in grave or immediate danger. Anyone with information regarding this child abduction, should contact the Gilmer Police Department at 903-843-5545.

Traffic may continue on the southbound frontage road using the remining left turn lane. Southbound mainlanes between Briarcrest Drive and University Drive – Full Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. All traffic must exit through the southbound University Drive exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just north of University Drive. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramp north of Briarcrest Drive will be closed. Northbound frontage road between Barron Road and Midtown Drive – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The northbound frontage road right lane will be closed to set traffic barrier. Additionally, the northbound Rock Prairie exit ramp will be closed. Northbound traffic may use the Barron Road exit to access Rock Prairie Road. Southbound frontage road between Rock Prairie Road and Barron Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The southbound frontage road left lane will be closed. The Barron Road exit ramp and the entrance ramp south of Rock Prairie Road will be closed. Southbound traffic may use the Rock Prairie Road exit ramp to access Barron Road. Additionally the entrance ramp south of Briarcrest Drive will be closed. Thursday, September 17 Northbound and southbound mainlane between Southwest Parkway and Rock Prairie Road – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The northbound and southbound mainlanes left lane will be closed for work in the center median. Southbound mainlane between Barron Road and William D. Fitch Parkway – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The southbound mainlane right lane will be closed. Additionally, the southbound William D. Fitch Parkway exit ramp will be closed. Southbound traffic may exit at Barron Road to access William D. Fitch Parkway.
