Bryan-College Station, TX (August 12, 2013)-
The Brazos Valley Bombers continue to make their playoff push to win a championship with another win against the Generals.
Opportunities to score early on came often, but strong pitching and sound defense from the Generals kept runs from being put on the board. Mason Randolph started the Bombers hopes after he was able to bring a run in by reaching base on error. Another run came across in the 3rd, after the Generals’ pitcher threw a wild pitch making the score 2-0. The Bombers quickly added two more runs in the 5th inning after Horacio Correa III hit a RBI single and another pass ball by the Generals brought in another run making it 4-0.
It was looking as if the Bombers would pull away at one point, but the Generals held strong and cut the Bombers lead down to three in the 7th. Fortunately, the Bombers prevailed and got the victory 4-1. It was another complete game for the Bombers pitchers as Brandon Easterling only gave up one run on five hits and struck out six. The Bombers are on the road for game two and have a chance to close it out in Victoria. If the Generals steal game 2, the series will shift back to AMB Ballpark.
