The Brazos Valley Bombers scored six runs in the first two innings Sunday night to beat Victoria Generals 7-1.
Alex Mercado hit a three run homer in the first and Graham McIntyre followed in the second with a two run blast to stake Bombers starting pitcher Mike Walker to a 6-0 lead.
Walker and three relievers gave up three hits and one unearned run as the Bombers extended their lead over the Generals in the Texas Collegiate League.
The Bombers swept the series, winning in Victoria 4-1 and 3-2, then returning to American Momentum Bank ballpark and winning Saturday night’s game 6-2.
The Bombers, with a season record of 19-3, resume their home stand with the East Texas Pumpjacks Tuesday night.
