Blinn College trustees held a special meeting Thursday, in part to name a 15 member presidential search committee.
The committee, which will review applications and present recommendations, will include board president Douglas Borchardt and fellow trustee Carolyn Miller.
Representing Blinn’s administration are Associate Vice President Cathy Boeker, Dean of Engineering Monica Cortez, Dean of Health Sciences M. Elia “Smily” Flores, and Director of Alumni Relations Kyle Merten.
Representing Blinn educators are the President of the Division Leadership Council John Schaffer, Math and Engineering Department Head Yvette Janecek, Humanities Professor Mark Bernier, Geography Professor Susan Slowey, Physics Instructor Grady Hendricks, and Social Science Instructor John Castree.
The committee includes one student, Todd Winston of Bryan, and two community representatives, Ivan Olson of Bryan and Robert Mileska of Brenham.
Two public forums have been scheduled to collect input on the job description. The first forum is on the Bryan campus February 4 from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. then 4 until 5 p.m. in the student center. The second is on the Brenham campus February 5 in the administration building’s board room; also from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. then 4 until 5 p.m.
